South Africa's famous ultra-maraton will be running once again and this year, it's going to be this Sunday, May 30 at Durban, South Africa and it's called Comrades 2010 and everyone who can't go there to witness this momentous yearly event can still watch Comrades 2010 Marathon live online streaming wherever they may be as it was made possible through the efforts of Mr.Price, the Comrades Marathon IT sponsor! This event promises an interesting contest as past winners of Comrades Marathon will also be there to race against runners from all over the world! The race will start at 5.30am local time at the City Hall in Pietermaritzburg and will finish approximately at 17.30 local time at Sahara Stadium, Kingsmead in Durban! (as of this writing, an important update was released regarding the route of the 85th Comrades Marathon. Please read the details below.)
Some of the best runners who have won this and other marathon events will be there! Runners like Bongmusa Mthembu, who finished seventh last year, Charles Tjiane, third last year.
Mthembu finished second in the Nongoma Marathon and has won various distance races in KZN. On the other hand, Tjiane has been improving for the last two years. In 2008, he finished Comrades Marathon 38th and came in 3rd in 2009. Other runners are Fusi Nhalapo, Sipho Ngomane, Frans Khangela Chauke, Marco Mambo and Prodigal Khumalo. Truly, an exciting marathon event you don't want to miss!

May 30- Important Comrades 2010 Marathon Update:
I have learned just a few minutes ago that there is a change of route for the 85th Comrades Marathon it's because of the increased number of runners. Here is the update:
The new route from the Start will proceed down Chief Albert Luthuli (Commercial Road), turn right into Alexandra Road, and then proceed to the Ritchie Road / Alexandra Road Intersection. The runners will then turn left into Ritchie Road and proceed to Washington Road where it will join the regular Comrades route.
This route offers a much wider and free flowing run and should alleviate congestion on the road.
Participants and spectators, please be guided accordingly.
